DAVAO CITY, Philippines (June 06, 2022) - HINO’s modern LOVE BUS invades Metro Davao and conducted a soft launch gathering and test drive boarded with the invited key personalities in the transport industry in the region. Hino Motors Philippines (HMP) in cooperation with its local dealership team Motormall Davao Corporation (Owner of HINO DAVAO and HINO GENSAN) reignites the Love Bus nostalgia of the ’70s.

The launch of HINO HS8J Low Floor City Bus in Davao City is a proactive stand by Hino Motors Philippines to align with the plan of the city to implement the high priority bus system (HPBS) - a mass public transport modernization program that seeks to decongest traffic in this city. With its newest innovations, safety and comfort, and optimized cabin space, this bus can carry up to 62 passengers (36 seated and 26 standing). Equipped with warm LED interior lighting and built-in 32-inch TV monitors, commuting can finally be enjoyable. It’s a DENSO-driven air-conditioning system with SHARP Plasmacluster Ion Generator that purifies cabin air by disabling airborne contaminants. This, along with its antibacterial and antiviral interior panels give commuters peace of mind as they utilize public transport.

Prioritizing passenger convenience, the new HS8J Low Floor Bus features a side kneeling function that provides ease of getting in and out of the vehicle as doors can be lowered to the standard gutter height in the Philippines. “PWD-friendly is one of its notable features as the unit integrated a folding ramp for boarding dedicated space for wheelchairs in the vehicle to accommodate priority passengers. HMP is eager and excited to offer the new HS8J Low Floor City Bus and be part of this modernization of bus transportation here in Davao City”. said HMP Vice-President for Sales, Mr. Dela Cruz.

A relaxing ride is only possible when the driver and passengers are at ease. The Hino HS8J Low Floor City Bus runs on a J08E common rail, direct injection Euro 4 engine, coupled with a ZF 6-speed automatic transmission. This combination brings powerful performance at 280Ps output and 824Nm of torque while maintaining efficient fuel combustion for a smoother ride. The HS8J is also equipped with front and rear auto-adjusting disc brakes with ABS to ensure safe braking during emergencies and through various road conditions. The test drive traversed the main streets of the city to seek an audience from the heart of Davaeños.
